Children & young people inequalities

Our project experience includes....

A national commitment to end child poverty in the UK by 2020 was announced by government in 2014. However stats from CPAG released in 2020 reveals 30% remain in poverty, with a revitalised approach to address child poverty required. The recent pandemic has further exacerbated inequalities.

MLR>> has notable research experience in this area, founded on the creation and management of sub-regional child and family poverty monitoring, under the Merseyside Information Service (MIS) banner.

Our experience includes:

  • Sharing notable practice and knowledge transfer  (e.g. presenting at the national Welfare to Work Conference and the North West Child Poverty Network).
  • Co-ordinating child poverty information systems and data (e.g. project managing and directing the Child and Family Poverty Data Project, to initiate a consistent approach to the measurement and monitoring of child and family poverty across Liverpool City Region).
  • Providing localised Child Needs Assessments.
