Public Health teams, Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) and GPs work together (alongside national agencies, local services & the public) to maintain an in-depth understanding of the health needs of local populations, so as to commission the right services at the right time.
At each stage of the commissioning cycle having a variety of resourcing options can make all the difference – whether it be drawing upon accurate timely evidence to assess need in a Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA) or seeking public and patient views.
At MLR>> our experience includes:
- Need assessments to help identify inequality in service provision and access issues.
- Consultation and engagement with service users and patients (e.g those accessing drug treatment services).
- Evaluation and performance monitoring (e.g over a decade of performance monitoring support to Liverpool City Region local authority partners).
