FORMAT

A full agenda is presented at the base of this webpage.

In summary, the event was split into two:-

  • [1] prior to the break there was:
    • a) an introduction by David Keane, the Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) for Cheshire. He explained the ongoing consultation and timetable for revamping the Police and Crime Plan.
    • b) this was followed by an 'ask the audience' interactive session, with the audience able to use handsets  to register their opinion against 10 questions relating to:
      • the previous Police and Crime Plan, and issues affecting Cheshire communities.
      • future issues of concern and proposed priorities for the new Plan.
  • [2] after the break, and prior to the network lunch, there were two further sessions:
    • a) presentations offering 'funding perspectives' from Chester Voluntary Action (CVA), Canal Boat Adventure Project (CBAP) and Eastern Cheshire Clinical Commissioning Group (EC-CCG).
    • b) group work, with three questions posed to the audience for discussion - regarding funding strengths, improvements and lessons learnt from the event.

EVENT FEEDBACK

Your feedback is important! In this section find out what feedback we had at our recent event, what actions have been taken and how to send in comments

Latest feedback and improvement planning - from July 2016 event

A big thank-you to all those who sent in feedback after the event via the Evaluation Form, sent out by Rainbow and accessible as a MS Word download on the event website. The OPCC/MLR event team got together at the start of September to analyse improvement ideas and data from those forms, to identify any common trends – and where required address any common issues directly back to those who offered the feedback.

Two improvement ideas for the next event were identified by individuals via the feedback forms, leading to a review of how presentations are ‘pitched’ in future in terms of audience needs and also a return to table rotation of participants for the groupwork at the next meeting - something we had planned to do again in July, but it was just too hot on that particular day!

In addition to responses on the Evaluation Forms, your feedback at the ‘ask the audience’ session on Police and Crime Plan issues and priorities has also been captured, analysed and acted upon by the team – for example:

  • The overwhelming agreement of the audience that communities across Cheshire need to have more say in future decision making by the new PCC, and improvement ideas generated in the ensuing debate, are being used in the Victim Voice Consultation for victim services.
  • The debate around the need for new ways to deliver services to support victims of crime included a consensus that 12 months of funding is often too short a period for embedding sustainable processes - and that longer term funding is required. The Ministry of Justice (MoJ) is being pushed to confirm PCC funding for three years rather than just one, so hopefully longer term commitments can be made.

Your inputs are valued by the event team – so if you have any improvement ideas or would like to actively take part in the next session (as a presenter or in another role) please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
