An Appreciative Inquiry (AI) is a change management approach that helps organisations to connect with service users and other stakeholders to identify what is working well, understanding why it is working well and then doing more of this in the future.
This page provides access to reports, guidance notes, presentations and other supporting documentation. Scroll down this page to find:

NHS Vale Royal CCG, NHS South Cheshire CCG and NHS Eastern Cheshire CCG are working together to understand better the current nursing support provided to children and young people (CYP) with nursing needs that attend either special schools or mainstream schools.
This work started with an Appreciative Inquiry (AI), and two external, independent consultants (Michael Lloyd Research & VoiceBox Inc) were asked to deliver it.
The documents that follow provide backgound to policy changes, explains how services are provided (and by whom) and answers frequently asked questions about the Appreciative Inquiry.
In June and July 2015 we endeavoured to meet and engage with as many people as possible who have an interest in community nursing for children / young people in Cheshire.
We began with two launch events: in Winsford on Tues 9th June and in Crewe on Thurs 11th June. The format and objectives of the events is outlined in the 'Launch Invitation' document below, and the event presentation is accessible further down this web page.
Two summative events were held in September - providing an opportunity for us to present findings and also for CCG commissioners to present next steps. These events were on Tues 15th September in Winsford (6pm - 8pm) and on Friday 18th September in Crewe (10am - 12 midday). The event presentation is available - scroll down this page.
The launch events on 9th and 11th June introduced the Appreciative Inquiry and context as to why this review is important.
Summative events on 15th and 18th September launched the findings, and spelt out next steps for the group (including co-production and involvement from September onwards).
Presentation slides used in the Winsford and Crewe launch and Summative Workshops are available as a PDF document below.
The Final Report and Appendices bring together findings, 'pen portrait' case studies, quotes and research materials used in the appreciative inquiry - conducted between May 2015 and September 2015.
The files have been split to keep the size of files manageable for download. Below are two PDFs:
The next phase of work, that began with the Summative Events in September, will include engagement with children and young people and targeted action planning events. Contact Tracey for more details if you'd like to get involved.
